Please answer at least 5 questions from below!

1. To start things off, why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself, your books?

I’m the proud wife of a US Marine. We’ve been together nearly a decade and only

have a furbaby in the mix right now. I started writing when I was younger, mostly

really cheesy fanfic stuff, but it counts. About six years ago I became immersed in

the back end of the industry designing romance covers and working at an indie

bookstore. While I kept jotting down story ideas and the occasional novella, it

didn’t turn into something serious until I met Rae, Hudson, and their entire group

of friends. They’re loud, likeable, relatable, and fun. It was a sure match from the

beginning, and I’ve been writing about them ever since.

2. Where do you come up with the ideas for your stories?

Life. I try hard to keep my stories real and approachable by everyone. I like to write

about the relationships and smiling couples we see every day and give them a story

behind their smile.

3. Do you see yourself writing in the same genre? How important or not important is

including romance in what you write?

I would love to branch out into YA. I know it’s rather close to my current genre,

but it’s something that really strikes a chord with me.

4. This is something I’m always curious about, probably because I’m so picky about

it when I write, but how do you choose names for your characters? Is it whatever

comes to mind, or do they have meaning?

I almost always look up the meaning of the character’s name and try to emulate

that meaning. Sometimes I’m more successful than others. I’m also a big fan of

unisex names and using surnames as first names.

5. How do you choose the titles for your books? And do the titles usually come

before or after you’ve written the novels?

All of the tiles so far came to be before I wrote the book. I’ve always been one to

cheers to the tomorrow so that’s where I got the title for my first book. From there

I just stuck with the theme and built around it.

6. Who’s your favorite villain from your books? Who is it and why?

Umm…Clarissa. She’s not a huge character in the series yet, but she’s been seen

in every book so far as a not-so- approachable character. She has a story and I get

to tell a bit of it in book four.

7. Do you have a favorite character from your books? Who is it and why?

Gaige. Definitely Gaige. He’s basically my husband. I don’t mean it creepily, but

I mean that I built him off of my husband. Whew. That sounds better.

8. Can you tell us a bit about your writing process? How long does it usually take?

And is the process the same for each of your books?

I’ve taken anywhere from two to six months. Right now it really just depends on

finding the time between my other jobs. My process is…well not a process at all.

I just wing it. 😉

9. What has been your favorite thing about being an author?

Not having to wear a bra when I work. No joke.

10. What are you currently working on? And what can we expect from you in the

I’m currently working on Gaige’s book and a YA. Yes, I know, two books at once

is crazy but Gaige tends to clam up sometimes and won’t talk.

11. What are you most looking forward to about visiting Boise Book Fest?

Everything! It’s my first signing.

12. Before we say our goodbyes, can you tell us something random about yourself?

Just for funsies. And then that favorite character you mentioned– can you tell us

something random about them, too?

I love fuzzy socks like nobody’s business. I have to look at them every single time

I’m at the store (read: Target). Gaige’s secret? His favorite movie is The

Notebook. He wants an everlasting relationship like Noah and Allie have.
